Fine Arts Program

In today’s world, art is a universal language of expression that transcends cultures and generations. Beyond creating beautiful works, art nurtures imagination, creativity, observation, critical thinking, patience, discipline, and self-confidence—essential life skills that contribute to the holistic development of every learner.

At Pravaha Art Space, we believe that every individual possesses creative potential waiting to be discovered and refined. Our structured, age-appropriate curriculum is carefully designed to help students build a strong artistic foundation while encouraging personal expression and creative confidence.

Learning begins with the fundamentals of drawing, where students develop observation skills, proportion, form, and composition. As they progress, they explore a wide range of traditional and contemporary media, including pencil, pen, oil pastels, colour pencils, soft pastels, watercolours, gouache, acrylics, and oil painting. Each level builds upon the previous one, ensuring systematic skill development while inspiring originality and artistic excellence.

With experienced mentorship, small-batch learning, and a thoughtfully designed curriculum, Pravaha Art Space provides a nurturing environment where beginners, hobbyists, and aspiring artists can learn, grow, and discover their unique artistic voice.

Mrs. Radha Kannan

Artist • Fine Arts Educator • Founder & Mentor – Pravaha Art Space

Mrs. Radha Kannan is a passionate artist and dedicated fine arts educator committed to inspiring creativity through structured, high-quality art education. Since 2019, she has been mentoring children, teenagers, adults, and aspiring artists, helping them build confidence, master artistic techniques, and discover their unique creative voice.

She holds a Diploma in Fine Arts (DFA) from The Tamil Nadu Dr. J. Jayalalithaa Music and Fine Arts University and has further specialized through an Advanced Certification in Painting. She is currently pursuing her Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA), reflecting her commitment to continuous learning and artistic excellence. Complementing her artistic journey, she also holds a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Psychology, enabling her to create a nurturing, learner-centred environment that supports students of diverse learning styles and abilities.

Over the years, she has mentored more than 500 students across India and Australia. Many of her students have progressed from complete beginners to confident artists, while several have pursued higher education and careers in the field of Fine Arts.

As the Founder and Mentor of Pravaha Art Space, she has designed a progressive curriculum that develops artistic skills systematically—from the fundamentals of drawing and observation to advanced painting techniques across multiple media. Every program is thoughtfully crafted to encourage creativity, discipline, technical proficiency, and lifelong appreciation for art.

An accomplished contemporary artist specializing in abstract and modern art, Mrs. Radha Kannan has exhibited her works in reputed galleries and exhibitions. Her vision for Pravaha Art Space is to create a centre of excellence where artistic learning is joyful, meaningful, and transformative for learners of every age.

Programs Offered at Pravaha Art Space

At Pravaha Art Space, every learner progresses through a thoughtfully designed curriculum that builds artistic skills step by step. Each level lays a strong foundation for the next, encouraging creativity, technical excellence, and artistic confidence.

Varnam (Rainbow of Colours)
An engaging introductory programme that nurtures creativity, colour awareness, imagination, and confidence in young learners through fun and structured art activities.

Vidhai (Seed)
The foundation stage where students develop observation, drawing, colouring techniques, and essential artistic fundamentals.

Thulir (Sprouts)
Students strengthen their creative thinking while learning composition, visual storytelling, and a variety of drawing and colouring techniques.

Arumbu (Bud)
An advanced skill-building programme focusing on perspective, human anatomy, shading, proportion, and artistic composition.

Malar (Bloom)
A comprehensive fine arts programme where students explore professional art mediums including pencil shading, colour pencils, soft pastels, watercolours, gouache, acrylics, and mixed-media techniques.

Kani (Fruit)
The mentorship programme for dedicated artists, focusing on portfolio development, artistic identity, exhibition opportunities, advanced projects, and professional growth.

I have known Radha mam since the beginning of her academy days. I have seen her journey since the beginning of COVID online classes followed by direct classes and now opening an academy to meet different aspirations of kids. Her compassionate behavior with kids and her dedication in work to the smallest dot in a picture is highly commendable. No surprise that this academy kids come out winning most of the competitions they participate in.
